Pastor Nathanael Mayhew sent CreationSundays.com the following announcement, which we happily pass on to you:

“Last year our church celebrated Creation Sunday with a Creation Bible  study for adults and children, a creation affirming worship service, and  several creation presentations in the afternoon.

This year we are prefacing the Creation Sunday celebration with a  seminar on the authority of the Bible.

Our seminar will be held this Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at 1:00 pm at  Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, GA.  The address is 132  Hurricane Shoals Rd. Suite E. Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

The title is:  The Bible is No Human Book!

There will be two presentations this weekend:

Part 1 •    “Has God Spoken?” by William Duncan. An objective analysis of four challenges against the Bible

Part 2 •    “The Bible – Our Great Heritage” by Pastor Nathanael Mayhew. The reason God gave the Bible and why it will survive the attacks  against it.

The Bible is “able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which  is in Christ Jesus.” – 2 Timothy 3:15

I think a Biblical Authority seminar is the perfect preface to Creation Sunday and I hope to see other churches follow Zion Evangelical Lutheran’s example. Please lift up Pastor Mayhew and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for their unashamed stand for the historical veracity and ultimate authority of God’s Word!

The church is located at 132 Hurricane Shoals Rd. Lawrenceville, GA 30046.  Additional information about our church can be found on the church’s website at http://www.zionlutheranlawrenceville.com or on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Zion-Evangelical-Lutheran-Church-CLC/128395797403

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Will Celebrate A Creation Sunday [Feb 19] 2012 in Lawrenceville, GA

Pastor Nathanael Mayhew sent CreationSundays.com the following announcement, which we happily pass on to you:

“Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church will be celebrating Creation Sunday, February 19th, 2012.  Throughout the day we will focus on the truth that God has created the world by his all powerful word, not through the atheistic theory of evolution.   This will be the focal point of our children’s Sunday School lesson, our adult Bible Study, a special worship service as well as special creation presentation in the afternoon.

10:00am – Sunday School and Adult Bible Class 11:00am – Creation Day worship service 12:30pm – Fellowship lunch 1:30pm – Creation presentations for children and adults

In the afternoon session two presentations will be offered: “The Bible explains Dinosaurs” and “The Six Days of Creation.”

As Christians we and our children are confronted with these and other attacks against the authority of Scripture on a regular and increasing basis.  Now, more than ever, we need to be sure of what God teaches about the creation of the world in the Bible.  We need to prepare ourselves and our children for defiant and even subtle attacks against God and His Word.  Peter writes, “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear” (1 Peter 3:15).

We hope that you will join us next weekend as we strive to know, uphold, and defend the whole truth of God’s precious Word of Life.”

The church is located at 132 Hurricane Shoals Rd. Lawrenceville, GA 30046.  Additional information about our church can be found on the church’s website at http://www.zionlutheranlawrenceville.com.

Pastor Mayhew has also written an article for his church newsletter which comments on Creation Sunday, which can be found at:  http://www.clclutheran.org/atlanta/zionnews/2012/January.pdf.

I  encourage you to attend this Creation Sunday celebration if you’re in the area, and to lift up Pastor Mayhew and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church for their unashamed stand for the historical veracity and ultimate authority of God’s Word!

A Bible-Affirming Church in Lawrenceville, GA to hold a Creation Seminar on Saturday, May 21, 2011

Today was a very busy day here at CreationSundays.com. Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis was kind enough to mention us in his daily blog. We’ve garnered a lot of positive attention from the post (and some negative, of course, but those guys are negative about Biblical Christianity in general), but I wanted to pass this one along to you:

“Tony, I have been looking over your site after reading about it in Ken Ham’s Around the World Newsletter. I was not aware of the Evolution Sunday history, so I appreciated your bringing it to my attention and the attention of others. How sad it is to see so many compromising the truth of God’s Word in this way!

I am the pastor of a small confessional church in the Atlanta area that is part of a small synod of conservative Lutheran churches known as the Church of the Lutheran Confession. I have been planning a Creation Sunday – not knowing all of what you mention here, so am more motivated to do it now.

For your information (you can post this on you blog if you would like) our congregation is planning a Creation/Evolution seminar at the end of this month at our church (Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 2:00pm). You can find more about it at http://www.creationorevolution.info if you are interested. I have many resources on creation, and I will look for them and send them to you if you are interested. Please feel free to contact me.

One of the purposes of CreationSundays.com is to allow churches the chance to make a stand for Biblical authority so we can let folks know there’s a Bible-affirming church in their area. We do hope that Pastor Mayhew leads his church in celebrating a Creation Sunday on February 12, 2012; it certainly looks like he’s already off to a good start!

And if you’re reading this, Pastor Mayhew, we could use a few Creation-themed sermons if you have some you could spare…

God bless and stay in the Word,
-revTony
